In my self-portrait, I embraced boldness. I wanted to capture myself with contrasting colors – blues and yellows, cool and warm tones – to evoke the richness and complexity of my identity. I experimented with both ink and acrylic paint on a 24 by 18-inch canvas.
The use of ink added a distinct depth and texture to the piece, while the bold black outlines gave it an illustrative quality. I aimed to create an intense visual experience, inviting viewers to explore the interplay of colors and lines.
This self-portrait is a reflection of the vibrant and contrasting aspects of who I am. It’s a celebration of self-expression and a reminder that our identities are multi-faceted and ever-evolving. Through color and contrast, I hope to convey the complexity of human experience.
